Celestial Bodies 2011 – 2014

Celestial Bodies is a postmortem collaboration of Hayden with the cremated ashes of her parents and her mother in law.  Drawing inspiration from her Catholic roots and current Buddhist belief systems, as well as theoretical astronomical physics, Hayden scatters the ashes onto a scanning bed while invoking a mantra, prayer, invocation, memory or more lightheartedly combining the ashes of her parents while playing their favorite song, Sentimental Journey.

Each print is 60 x 40 inches, pigmented ink on Slickrock Metallic Pearl or Canson Baryta Photographique acid free papers , edition 6, series of 10 images.
