The Puerto Rico Architectural Heritage Archive (PRAHA)
2020 - 2022 Project Director
The Puerto Rico Architectural Heritage Archive (PRAHA) strives to develop an accessible public digital repository that reframes the mainstream representation of Puerto Rico from localized perspectives. Through its management of over 100,000 items from seven public and private repositories in Puerto Rico, the PRAHA seeks to recontextualize historically privileged voices at the same time as it provides space for the visualization of marginalized groups due to issues of race, ethnicity, gender, class as well as discourses of crises including colonialism.
PRAHA is providing a common collaborative platform that allows for democratic access and outreach of collections residing in Puerto Rico; those which showcase in some way architecture, spaces, modes of constructions, and occupations. The open access system with bilingual meta data (Spanish and English) will be built during 2022.
